Welcome to the East Fork Community News.

My name is Delane Wilson, and I’m 19 years old.

I am a graduate of Sumner High School and a big Kentwood High fan.

Mrs Cathy was looking for someone in each community to write about events that are happening. I’m going to college to be a journalist so I said I would do it, to get a start on things.

Things have been busy at East Fork Baptist Church, the week of June 25 East Fork held its annual VBS, Amazing Wonder Aviation. We had a great turnout, the highest number in attendance was 89. All the kids had a great time, it is a great outreach. On July 1, Amy Potts was baptized in the Tangipahoa River on 1054. It was hot, but I enjoyed getting to witness an old time baptism. On July 8, Stewart Miller and Jack Allen were ordained as deacons at East Fork Baptist Church. Jack Allen is the husband of Janet Allen, and Stewart Miller is the husband of Samantha Broyles Miller. Everyone also rejoiced in the fact that Mr Donald Spring was able to come to church on for the evening services of July 8. This was his first time back since he broke his hip in May. The doctors are pleased with his progress and said he could return to normal activity. Our youth left Monday for camp at Tall Timbers. We are excited to hear about their experiences when they return.

I know that everyone is thankful for the rain. We have needed it badly. I was able to drive down Booty Road Sunday and not be chased by a cloud of dust.

That’s all I have this time, I look forward to bringing you more East Fork news.
