TOWN OF ROSELAND

MINUTES, REGULAR MEETING

THURSDAY, MARCH 8, 2012, 6:00 PM

The council met on March 8, 2012 at the City Hall in Roseland , LA for regular session.

Call to Order: Mayor McCoy called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 pm.

Roll Call: Present were Mayor McCoy, Jerol Jones, Ruthie Vernon, Yvette Brooks, Van Shower, and Sandra Turner. Also present, Town Attorneys Sofia Riley and Willie G. Johnson.

Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance: Mrs. Sandra Turner led the meeting with prayer, and Mrs. Ruthie Vernon led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Public Input: No Public Input

Approve Minutes for February 2012: After review of the regular meeting held on March 8, 2012, a motion was made by Jerol Jones, and seconded by Yvette Brooks to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held on March 8, 2012. Motion passed.

Approve Accounts Payable for February 2012: After review, a motion was made by Van Showers, and seconded by Sandra Turner to approve accounts payable for February 2012. Votes: Yvette Brooks, Jerol Jones, and Ruthie Vernon. Motion passed.

Old Business: Mr. Van Showers presented the board with a new bid/price for a Backhoe. Mayor request Mr. Showers to send contract to Town’s Attorney’s to review contract before making a decision. Votes: Van Showers made the motion, Yvette Brooks seconded. Motion passed.

New Business: Mayor asked Interim Clerk to follow-up with the Meter Reading Specialist, Mr. Duane to reschedule a meeting regarding complaints about non-read meters.

Resolution: Approved and Adopted- The Community Development Water Enrichment Fund Program. Votes: Jerol Jones, Sandra Turner, Van Showers, and Yvette Brooks. Motion Passed.

Zoning: Zoning Member- Rose Burton came before the board to ask if a mobile home could be put on Regina Davis’ property at 62441 Commercial Street in Roseland , LA.

Mayor McCoy scheduled a Special Meeting in a week to discuss the location. Attorney Johnson asked Interim Clerk, Janice Holland to give a copy of an Ordinance to owner.

Adjourn: Jerol Jones made a motion to adjourn. Sandra Turner seconded.
