A resident of Amite and a longtime resident of Port Sulphur, Jo Etta Demandre died at 7:10 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Tangi Pines Nursing Center in Amite.

She was born June 28, 1943 in San Jose, CA and was 69 years of age.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Jo Demandre Gaeta, Amite and Marquita Roberts LaCoste, Diamondhead, MS; 2 sisters, Pamela Parker, San Antonio, TX and Sandra Miller, Brownwood, TX; 4 grandchildren, Maelyn and Trey Gaeta and Anna and John LaCoste; 2 great-grandchildren, Alexis and Emma LaCoste.

Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Demandre; parents, James and Ollie Yocham; sister, Loretta Pellegrin.
