Editor:
Hello everyone and welcome to the 2012 Tangipahoa Parish Fair.
My name is Tanya Lea Crowe and for the past year I have had the most prestigious honor of serving as your 124th Tangipahoa Parish Fair Queen.
I am the 19-year-old daughter of Talbert and Jody Crowe of Amite. I have one younger brother, Cody Crowe. I am the granddaughter of J.C. and Lillie Willie of Folsom, and Talmadge Crowe and the late Janet Crowe of Amite.
I am a 2012 graduate of Jewel M. Sumner High School, presently attending Southeastern Louisiana University as a freshman pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
My reign over the past year has been full of wonderful blessings and incredible experiences.
I have attended numerous festivals, fairs, balls, pageants, parades and other special events. Throughout my travels I have made treasured memories and formed friendships and close bonds with fellow "Rhinestone Sisters."
This has allowed me the privilege to view our amazing state as a Louisiana Fair Queen. In addition, I was given the chance to share and promote the wholesome quality and family traditions our fair's values are based on.
I would like to give a special thank you to my outstanding fair board. The board has given me an unforgettable year and I thank you for allowing me to serve as your queen.
I am so grateful for all of the love and support given throughout my reign.
The hard work, dedication and effort put in by each of you is what makes our fair bigger and better each and every year. This was shown as we received the award for "Fair of the Year" at the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals convention in Baton Rouge.
As well, we are continually going on as the oldest fair or festival in the state of Louisiana.
With great anticipation, I invite you to join us October 3-7 for good times as we celebrate the 124th Tangipahoa Parish Fair.
